Picked up a newspaper off the floor and was startled to see a scorpion. Did not know moving into new home in Georgia would encounter a pest problem: I researched a number of pest control companies and chose Bulwark mostly, do to my conversation with Luke a very pleasant and knowledgeable technician. Happily Luke was also the tech that came to our home the next day. I was pleased with how thorough he was and the time he took to apply the different chemicals. Luke explained how they worked and their effectiveness to eliminate pests inside and out. So far we have not seen any live insects in side the home, a few dead ones outside. I feel sure this extermination service by Bulwark is doing the job. I will recommend them to anyone looking for a professional exterminator. Robert

We have seen 5 scorpions in the house in the past 2 months, and 4 dead scorpions in the basement. We want something that will kill them dead, and keep them from coming back!! Looking forward to hearing from someone about this. Thanks.
While scorpions are not the most notorious pest in Atlanta, they are being found in Atlanta. Pest Control companies would be smart to learn additional treatment techniques to combat scorpions. What most people don’t know is that scorpions are not common insects. In fact, they are not insects at all. Scorpions are part of the spider family, AKA arachnids. Count the legs, there are eight. Spiders in general are very difficult to control. Spiders walk on their toes and keep their bodies elevated and away from pest control products. And scorpions are even better equipped for survival. They can go for 4 to 7 months without food! And many scorpions live for over 7 years some up to 15 years.
The good news is that most scorpions stings in the US are not life-threatening. The only exception to this are those that may have an allergic reaction to the scorpions venom. The US Asthmatic estimates allergic reactions to occur in about 1 out of every 20 people. If you do have an allergic reaction then contact the poison control center and seek medical attention. Death can occur within 1.4 hours and 24 hours of being stung by a scorpion.
